Knowing the unseen?

Hello everyone

What will happen if people can know the future, the unseen?

Don't you think that it’s a boon from god that we don't know the future, isnt a boon that peoples live their life without concerning how to avoid what will happen to them?

why people want to know the future?

Re: Knowing the unseen?

Hi,

Maybe all of life is a game of hide-and-seek or peek-a-boo? Hiding and searching.

Nature loves to hide. [Heraclitus]

It seems to me that if we know what will happen in the future unless we do something to avoid it, that would be, and is, a great boon. For example, suppose we get a disease which, if we do not take the necessary steps to cure it, will make us very ill, or even kill us. But, if there is a medicine, or a treatment that can cure the disease, then are we not much better off knowing we have the disease so we can take the steps to cure or, at least, to mitigate the effects of the disease? Many people are very grateful that they discovered a disease in its early stages so they could prevent what would happen unless they did take steps to cure, or arrest the progress of the disease. It is because of that the philosopher, Francis Bacon, told us "knowledge is power". Don't you agree?
(Nature loves to hide, and science loves to ferret out what nature hides for the benefit of people).

We should be very concerned about what will happen in the future and trying feverishly to work it out.

Re: Knowing the unseen?

When I think about seeing into the future I always think about the Oidepus myth, Oedipus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, when trying to avoid the future was the thing that made the prophecy come true. I don't won't to know my future, because I wouldn't know how to react.

If we knew the future how would free will act? Could we alter our destiny, kill despots before they get power.

Knowing the future is really a form or type of time travel. I personally have had many precognitive dreams

If you altered the future, then how could you have known the future?
