Ideal People.

I realize there is no such thing. But in your mind you have set what best represents "masculinity" and that which represents "femininity". Of course you may not have an idea at all. That's ok. Who would you think would be the best role models that woud be good representations of male and femalle. You are not limited by anything. Please not hit and runs. Please explain why, if you don't mind.

Thanks,
William

Let's narrow it down to the entertainment industry; movies and television.

I cannot think of any role models in the entertainment industry. Ideal men? Cannot think of any contemporary ideal male role model. Female? Just one who I consider somewhat of a mentor. Masculinity and femininity are matters of opinion to me. I find passivity in both genders to be a higher quality.

Re: Ideal People.

In my minds eye I Brian Keith was a "natural" representing the strong, but with heart; reflected in most of his "acting". and hands down the ultimate feminine beauty was Audrey Hepburn. Of course they are my race. I was hoping to bring some of those to light as what other races think and what they think is masculine and feminine and compare the responses on what kind of human being would result when all three are combined. Asian, causcasian, and black. Call it a research project. Ha. The ultimate human hybrid.

Re: Ideal People.

Perhaps a better question might be, what role model best represents the ideal of the human being?

I like the direction of this. Ideal people is good. If the ideal is a person it has more life. Just as the Greek gods are more lively than our usual abstractions for the emotions.

What about how these feminine and masculine ideals tie in with our ideals of intelligence, nobility, and decency?

Sometimes I think this is a root issue. I expect that it varies from person to person. Of course. But how? Is there a structure? And how does ideal connect to self-invention? Doesn't the ideal change in relation to the changing self?
