Re: New article about suicide

At one point in time, the only reason I didn't kill myself was because I didn't have an easy way. I believe to an extent, from seeing others as well as myself, that the reason suicide is becoming more often, it because people don't have a base to their life. I once wrote in my philosophy journal...

"Sometimes we base our life to dependant on one thing, there are many examples of that foolishness, even I do it myself! However, there are many different kinds that pollute the world.
Boyfriends/Girlfriends. It’s truly pathetic how they believe they cannot live without another other special one in their life. Get over yourself, you’re still a good person and can live your life fine without them, I know many wise people who were never married and gave up on dating and they’re perfectly normal, to an extend, sometimes old people can be a little… odd.
The next one, no, don’t cringe, is sports. This is the thing I base my life upon. Although I am very intelligent, that isn’t how I want to get into college, my life is volleyball, so I become an empty emotionless, complete, utter, wreck before tryouts each year. Let’s hope I make it for the sake of my family member’s sanity.
Now imagine what happens when they base their life on that one thing, that one instable thing, and it dissapears through the cracks in the distance. They have nothing to hold them up, and usually fall victim to addiction. Its an unstable life when not based on something that will never change."

If you think about it, it's obvious. Our psychological well being is alfa and omega in life. Other things being equal, if you feel good psychologically, all is well, if you feel bad, all is hell. The reason for our psychological condition doesn't really matter, in any case, it's how we feel that matters.

Well would you want others to keep themselves alive, even though they may be suffering so much that life has become meaningless to them, and there is no way to make things better?

Just wondering but how would you define someone as mentally ill because I've got AvPD and I still can think for myself. I'm just am afraid of being around other people.
