Hello (I am saying hello (but which 'I'?))

...the 'I' who signed up? The 'I' who was asked to introduce myself by the welcome message? The I who is waiting for my pasta to boil?

But enough Derrida.

Hi everyone, very glad to have discovered this forum. I'm a graduate student from London - but in anthropology, not philosophy. I believe that a stronger dialog between philosophy and anthropology will be very beneficial as both disciplines tend to concern themselves with probing ideas of rationality, logic, ethics, etc.

So I hope we can share some ideas!

Warm welcome Quesalid. Thank you for introducing yourself and we welcome you to the forum. It's always good to have a mixture of minds in the forum and we have a lot of participants from various educational backgrounds. Looking forward to more on anthropology.

Hello & welcome to all of you (the multiple I's, that is).

It's great to hear you're studying of anthropology, a very interesting field. I've always been fascinated by the different theories regarding the migration of humans. I also had a lecturer in my Religious Studies course whose speciality was anthropological religious studies and for one lecture he invited an anthropologist (who specialised in religion in anthropology) to share with us his research in remote Andaman Islands - it was quite fascinating.

Are you specializing in any particular field of anthropology?
