Reputation

I tried to give someone reputation today, and I got a message saying I'd already given my allotted amount of reputation for the past 24 hours.

But, unless thanked posts count for rep, I haven't given any rep in the past 24 hours.

Re: Reputation

I think you can only give 5 thanks per24 hour period and each thanks counts as a rep point.

Re: Reputation

Why is there a limit to reps?
Is it to prevent those who are in to good a mood from giving out thanks to every decent idea he hears?

Re: Reputation

Yeah. I think the reputation system should change slightly to benefit the fact that it will take me forever to get to a rep power of 2. lol, I think I've got 21 rep points and I need a hundred or something, actually it might be 50, I forget.

I think its to keep the integrity of the rep system. If it was limitless, we could rep every post on the boards. With a limit, it means something; with a limit, you keep the rep for posts that really are helpful to you and insightful.
