Wittgenstein = Hegel. Same Logical Core.

Posted 03-04-2010 at 07:46 AM by Reconstructo

Both reduce logic to tautology (or positing) and negation. And all concepts , logically, derive from those.

Witt said it all in a tiny book, as his purpose was much more refined, much simpler. Wittgenstein is the most perfectly aimed bullet in history.

The TLP is utterly destructive of all distinctions. Except for the basic distinction that it reveals. That pure logic , as opposed to determinate contingent logos, says nothing we don't already know.

Distinctions are reduced to a torus that talks to itself about itself.

Wittgenstein is the square root of Hegel

Posted 03-04-2010 at 07:24 AM by Reconstructo

The TLP is a negative ontology that reduces all distinctions to tautology and negation. From these two primaries, all of math and logic are built up. For reasons of convenience, both math and logic have developed many essentially superfluous symbols.

The TLP destroys both realism and solipsism, causality and any ontology more determinate than its own.

The TLP is an echo of Hegel's Logic. The transcendental logical structure of our mind is manifest completely by the concepts of identity and negation. For both in logic and math, negation can double for addition. In logic,...

Dopes for Tropes (Trope as Dope)

Posted 02-11-2010 at 02:31 AM by Reconstructo

Tropes are traps or treasures. Tropes are fingers, eyes.

The eyes behind man's eyes are tropes. His thinking is a nexus of pictures. Inquiry as recontextualization.

His nose is made of stories. His ears of allusions. His chin is stained with noise.

In the beginning was the word and the word was man. Adam had'em. Names. First name objects then use the name of objects in ways that hint at the structure of objects and the structure of these structures.

No tropes, no philosophy. No tropes, no abstract thought. No tropes, no abstract words. I suppose...

I heard she's got a great "as."

Posted 02-11-2010 at 01:34 AM by Reconstructo

Sophia, I mean, whose friends and lovers we call ourselves.

Philosophy as the novel use of "as."
Philosophy as a nice "as." (Or philosophy has a nice "as.")
Doesn't philosophy have a nice "as?"
The "as" is the face of the soul. (A modification of Bukowski.)

Philosophy as spiritual phallus.
The spirit as hot air, as opposed to cold air.
Philosophy as an as-machine.
Is philosophy as-matic?

Winning Smile

Posted 02-08-2010 at 03:47 AM by Reconstructo

Nietzsche and Tao agree that Truth is equipped with a uterus. Know the masculine (biblically?) but keep to the feminine.

Rorty reminds me of Running Water -- that's his Native American alter-ego. Is running water the same as Nietzsche's "mobile army of metaphors"? Liquid is made of molecules that hold on loosely, that are willing to recontextualize.
Pragmatism is self-consciously dynamic. If religion offers the comfort of closure, pragmatism offers the comfort of the impossibility of closure, which the wry pragmatist will admit is a form of closure. I like the...

Blogging on blogger

Posted 02-05-2010 at 08:29 PM by Reconstructo

http://onanismo11.blogspot.com/

I've started blogging on Google's Blogger lately. At first, because I respect the company so much. Then I saw that one could monetize one's blog. Sure, it's peanuts but its practice toward the goal of making a living doing what I love, which is reading, thinking, writing.

One of my blogs is a Youtube video of yours truly doing some strange blend of comedy and philosophy.

I just checked in on my blog and saw an advertisement for "soy free cheese alternatives." I have sold out bigtime.
