Why it's hard to think and talk at the same time

When you talk, you're broadcasting a pre-recorded message. This is because talking activates the motor cortex with learned patterns. So I'm saying that talking inherently involves prejudice and pre-conceived notions, neither of which involve thinking (in the sense of reflecting and understanding)

Sometime Sun, Nietzche, and me.

I jumped into reading Thus Spoke Zarathustra with the book reading group on this forum. The results were unexpected. I began to see Nietzche hiding in the nooks and crevices of modern thought. Through Walter Kaufman, I discovered that I'm not the only one to read his writings and think: oh I know where he got that from... only to discover that Nietzche either formulated the ideas independently, or more astonishingly... that it's the other way around: Nietzche was the actually the origin.

Ultimately, my travels through Nietzche's ideas ground to a halt as I discovered I'd had more

Personal Mythology

Rudyard Kipling related a story about his meeting with Mark Twain. Kipling was expressing his appreciation for Tom Sawyer when Twain was prompted to explain that he was in the midst of rewriting it.

Taken aback, Kipling remarked: "You can't rewrite Tom Sawyer."

"Why not?" asked Twain. "It's my story. I can rewrite it if I want to."

Surely Kipling realized he was dealing with a goof ball. But what if Twain had been serious? Kipling was right. Tom Sawyer may have been the soul property of Mark Twain in the beginning, but
